Portman S-TRIBE Takes Center Stage on the George Strait Tour
Two years after first seeing it on the LDI show floor, the George Strait production team still describes the Portman S-TRIBE in one word: unique. Working with OnServices and Inner Circle Distribution, lighting director Stacey LaBarbera and designer/programmer Skylar LaBarbera have built the fixture into both of the tour's configurations. Arena shows use 88 units above and around a 36-foot in-the-round stage, and stadium shows use 98 across a 56-foot rotating stage. Even next to large-format video, the S-TRIBEs hold their own, and concertgoers regularly leave asking what those lights were. More
